OCM Capital Markets at Silverstone Rally School

On September 4th OCM Capital Markets & their clients enjoyed a day at Silverstone Rally School.

Slight nerves on arrival were soon overcome as bacon butties were served by Dawn followed by a very strong cup of coffee...

The morning session consisted of learning the techniques of handbrake turns and power slides. After only a few tries the lads had cracked it.. each one had managed to control the car in true rally fashion,with plenty of sideways action!!!

As lunch was served, again by the lovely Dawn we all watched a DVD of the late Colin Mcrae.. now we wasn't expecting Colin's style of driving from anyone but it had entertained us..

Martin Lush the instructor for the day throughout had been briefing on what was going to happen and how it was to be done.. by now competition had set in!!! each one had driven the full stage which involved all the skills & techniques that they had learnt throughout the day, but it was now time to put it all in to practise. We had decided that for a bit of fun each lap would be timed and the winner would be provided with a prize!!

Not surprisingly everyone had put in some really good times,(despite a stall) normally when timing takes place, it completely goes to pot as this distracts the driver has they desperately want to win, however this wasn't the case, a superb drive by all neat, tidy and quick. Their total times were incredibly close & only seconds between them all..

However there can only be one winner!! and we all know who it was but I'm not going to mention any names as i can imagine the banter back in the office !!!
